In the first matchup of the evening, Kappa Phi Epsilon took on Siete Lokos in the Men’s Recreational finals. Kappa Phi Epsilon’s crowd could get the honor for the loudest fans of the evening, but this game belonged to Siete Lokos. Eddie Mendoza got the scoring started on the night with a 35 yard interception return for a touchdown early in the first half. That was one of three interceptions on the night from Siete Lokos’ stingy defense. Late in the second half, Carlos Enjamio found Eric Montes for a 22 yard touchdown which put the game out of reach. Kappa Phi Epsilon battled hard, but in the end, it was Siete Lokos taking home the recreational crown with an 18-0 victory. Next up was the Women’s final, where the Tomboys were trying to avenge last year’s loss in the Swamp by beating the sorority champions, Delta Gamma. After a couple of stalled drives by both teams, Kristina Netzler was able to find the end zone with a one yard rush midway through the first half to give the Tomboys the early edge. Netzler had a great game, finishing 19-30 for 170 yards and three total touchdowns (1 rushing). Her receivers, led by Janna Magette (8 receptions, 72 yards), Sharielle Smith (27 yard reception) and Murriel Page (4 receptions, 28 yards, 2 touchdowns), helped the Tomboys to the 18-6 victory.
